Merry Fitness & Healthy Holidays!

Healthy Holiday Advent!It’s that time of year again.  The time when delicious holiday foods and tasty treats are plentiful. And colder and darker days, mixed in with a busy holiday party schedule, make it easier and easier to skip out on a regular workout routine.  As we all know, this killer combo can lead to unwanted pounds that are difficult to shed the rest of the year.

Inspired by a holiday themed blog put together by a few fabulous fitness bloggers in London (see their blogs here, here and hereDietitian Drive and Working Out Loud have decided to join forces for this advent season to come up with our own Boston-based version of their Zero Calorie Advent Calendar, Healthy Holiday Advent Calendar!

Starting December 1st, every day for the next 24 days, we at Dietitian Drive and Working Out Loud will be alternating between fitness tips, class reviews, healthy recipes, and nutrition strategies to motivate you to keep moving and make smart food choices during the tempting month of December.  There’s no need to take all the good tidings and cups of good cheer out of the holiday season. Rather, we quite enjoy staying active and healthy during December, which hopefully starts our New Year off one step ahead of the pack.

We look forward to you following us on our journey through December, and hope our cross-blogging provides a little bit of inspiration as we all try to keep the holiday weight gain at bay.

About Kerri (Dietitian Drive) & Kim (Working Out Loud)

You know what they say, friends that workout together stay together. Okay, maybe that’s not exactly what they say and we just made it up.  But that definitely applies to Kerri and Kim.  The health and fitness obsessed pair appropriately met the first day of bootcamp in the Boston Commons nearly 5 years ago, and have been fast friends ever since.  Kerri’s an expert in weight management, wellness, and nutrition – more about her at Dietitian Drive.  Kim’s savvy in financial management and just happens to love fitness so much, she started blogging at Workout Out Loud for fun – more about her here. Running races and participating in bootcamps aside, this is Kerri & Kim’s first collaborative endeavor together.  Here’s to many more to come!
